The Town of Vienna is a historic and welcoming rural community located in northern Oneida County, known for its rich agricultural roots, scenic landscapes, and strong sense of local pride. Established in the early 19th century, Vienna developed as a farming community, with generations of families cultivating the land and contributing to the region’s food supply. Its proximity to Oneida Lake and neighboring communities like Sylvan Beach has long made it a place where agriculture, recreation, and small-town life come together.

Today, Vienna continues to thrive as a close-knit community where neighbors support one another, local organizations play an active role, and traditions remain deeply valued. Volunteerism—especially through groups like the North Bay Fire Department—helps define the town’s character, while local businesses, farms, and community events bring residents together throughout the year.

At the heart of this community spirit is the Vienna Farmers Market, a program that reflects both Vienna’s agricultural heritage and its forward-looking commitment to accessibility, education, and economic opportunity.

The Vienna Farmers Market began in 2016, started by the Vienna Seventh Day Adventist Church and originally held in the church’s front yard. Under the leadership of founding manager Jessica Johnson, the market grew steadily through 2022. Management was then passed to The Farms of ADL, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization led by Executive Director Brian Kirsch, who serves in a volunteer role. The organization is supported by our committed vendors and the local community. After operating at a few locations over the years, the market found its permanent home in 2025 at the North Bay Firemen’s Field. With the strong support of the North Bay Fire Department and a beautiful, spacious setting, the market is set to expand even further in 2026.
