I was working in the corporate world, trying super hard to follow the normal career path, but I was unhappy, sick and tired. Little did I know, everything would change when I was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. To say it was a wakeup call, was an understatement. After treatment, I tried to go back to my old job, but I realized I couldn’t go back, I could only go forward. In my forward, I left the corporate world, discovered yoga and Reiki and opened Golden Yoga & Healing Arts studio in 2013. I started to see clients and discovered I could reach a wider audience through Reiki infused gemstone jewelry, which I describe as my tangible way of getting Reiki to the people. The idea for Carrieann’s Creations came from my dad. I had been making Reiki infused beaded malas and jewelry for a while, but it had just been part of my yoga studio. It wasn’t until I made a Tigers Eye bracelet for my dad that it started to become something more. I think he wore it at first because I gave it to him but later, he told me he was feeling better. People asked him what it was that made him feel better and he told them he was wearing one of Carrieann’s creations. The weight on his wrist reminded him to be mindful of what that stone meant to him and the love I put into making it for him. From then on it was Carrieann’s Creations. I have expanded my Creations to include unique boho decor that fits any lifestyle and I put that same love and thoughtfulness into each of my Creations.
I have since sold the studio, left my home state of Colorado and moved across the country to start the next chapter in my forward. I am constantly adding to my Creations but they are all still filled with the same loving intent and energy.
