Northern Elements began as a journey rooted in creativity, sustainability, and slow living. What started in 1996 during the “Magic Bus years” making handmade jewelry evolved into a deeper passion for natural living and plant-based products.

In 2012, while caring for grandparents at the end of their lives, harsh chemical cleaners were replaced with homemade alternatives crafted from plant extracts. Shampoo, conditioner, and soaps soon followed through years of experimentation and learning.

By 2014, soap was being sold in Oberlin, Ohio while pursuing a sustainable agriculture degree. During that time, a community project called “Re-Soaple” was created, turning used cooking oil into soap distributed free to those in need.

Under the name BeeKind, the next decade in Northern Ohio was spent building an eco-friendly gardening business focused on soil health, botanical body products, and apothecary traditions.

n 2025, BeeKind relocated to New York’s North Country, embracing the beauty of Salmon River mornings and the local fishing community. Today, Northern Elements continues its mission of offering nature-inspired products that celebrate slow living, elemental beauty, and connection to the North.
