The Neighborhood Center, Inc., through its COMHPS (Community Mental Health Promotion and Support) program, provides compassionate support and guidance to residents throughout Oneida County. The program helps connect individuals and families with a wide range of community resources and social services, including food pantries, insurance assistance, social benefit applications, daycare resources, career and job services, and recreational or community-based activities.

COMHPS also offers emotional support while helping individuals navigate difficult situations and connect with the services they need. For individuals not currently receiving social benefits, the program may be able to provide wraparound support on a one-time basis after completing a brief social needs screening. This assistance can include hygiene products, clothing, food items, and in some cases, gas cards or bus passes to help access appointments, employment, or essential services.
Even for individuals already receiving social benefits, COMHPS may still be able to provide additional pantry items and support resources based on current program availability.
All services provided through the COMHPS program are completely free of charge, helping strengthen the health, stability, and well-being of the community.
